KAEDE TRADING FAQ

Browse our available vehicles or tell us what you are looking for. We can also source vehicles from Japanese auctions. For auction purchases, we normally arrange an independent third-party inspection before bidding to help verify vehicle condition. Once you approve the vehicle and quotation, we proceed with purchase, export documentation and shipping arrangements.

After your vehicle purchase is confirmed, Kaede Trading arranges the necessary inspection, inland transport, export documentation and shipping booking. Depending on the destination and vehicle, shipment may be by RoRo or container. Vessel schedules and transit times vary by destination and shipping-line availability. Once the vehicle is shipped, we provide the relevant shipping documents for customs clearance. Import duties, taxes, port charges and local clearance costs at destination are normally the buyer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

FOB (Free On Board) price includes the vehicle and applicable export costs in Japan up to loading the vehicle on board the vessel. Ocean freight, insurance, import duties, taxes and destination charges are not included unless otherwise stated.

CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) price includes the vehicle, applicable export costs, ocean freight and marine insurance to the named destination port. Import duties, taxes, customs clearance and other destination charges are normally not included.

No. Unless specifically stated in our quotation, FOB and CIF prices do not include import duties, taxes, customs clearance fees or other destination charges. These costs are normally paid by the buyer in the destination country. We recommend checking the applicable charges with your local customs authority or clearing agent before purchase.

Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time (JST). We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Japanese public holidays.

The total delivery time varies depending on the destination, vessel availability, inspection requirements and shipping schedule. Once your vehicle is ready for shipment, we arrange the earliest suitable booking available and provide you with the schedule. We can give you an estimated delivery timeframe based on your destination, but exact arrival dates cannot be guaranteed.

Additional costs depend on the quotation and your destination. For FOB purchases, ocean freight is not included. At the destination, you may also need to pay import duties and taxes, customs clearance, port or terminal charges, registration fees and local transportation. We clearly indicate the costs included in our quotation so you know what is covered before proceeding.

Yes. Left-hand-drive vehicles are less common in Japan because most Japanese-market vehicles are right-hand drive. However, LHD vehicles, particularly imported European and American models, do appear at Japanese auctions. Tell us the make, model, year and budget you are looking for, and we can help search for suitable vehicles.

We normally arrange an independent third-party inspection before bidding, in addition to the auction house inspection, to help verify the vehicle condition. After purchase, any required pre-shipment inspection for the destination country is arranged separately before shipping.

The independent third-party inspection helps verify the vehicle's condition before we bid. The inspector reviews the vehicle against the auction information and reports any notable issues that may affect the purchase decision. The scope of inspection may vary depending on the vehicle and auction location.

We currently accept payment by T/T (Telegraphic Transfer) to our designated bank account. Our bank details are provided on the official Kaede Trading invoice. For security, please contact us directly if you receive any request to send payment to a different account.

Payment terms may vary depending on the vehicle, purchase method, and customer. A minimum deposit of 15% is generally required to secure a vehicle or before bidding at a Japanese auction. Some purchases may require full payment. The required deposit amount, payment schedule, and balance due date will always be clearly stated in our quotation or invoice before you proceed.
