Japanese Used Cars for Micronesia (FSM) – Import Rules & Shipping

We have not identified a general nationwide FSM rule that prohibits used vehicles simply because of their age. However, importers should confirm any current national or state-specific requirement before purchasing or shipping.

FSM drives on the right side of the road. Japanese right-hand-drive vehicles are used in the market, but drivers should take account of the steering position when operating on right-hand-traffic roads.

The Federated States of Micronesia consists of four states: Pohnpei, Chuuk, Yap and Kosrae. Customs administration is handled nationally, while vehicle registration and some road-use requirements are handled at state level.
